News Brief

Rain expected this weekend

The KXCV/KRNW listening area has received quite a bit of precipitation lately. Meteorologist for the National Weather Service, Ryan Cutter, says that this wave of storms will continue through the weekend.

"Particularly during the day Friday, we might see anywhere around an inch of accumulation, say up in the Maryville area.  Though as you head south towards Kansas City, you can see those accumulations ramp up as we expect more stormy activity down that way."

The National Weather Service warns that several rounds of heavy rain could bring 4 to 6 inches across far eastern Kansas and far western Missouri. A flash flood watch remains in effect for those areas until 7 a-m Saturday morning.
